Are HoldOn bags certified?Updated 2 months ago

HoldOn bags are certified to be compostable by both the BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) as well as the TUV Austria Institute.

TUV Austria is the most intensive certifying body for compostable goods. HoldOn bags (with the exception of our Tall Kitchen 13 gallon bags) are TUV OK Home Compost certified, which means that the bags have been tested for at-home composting and have been proven to break down effectively in an appropriate home composting setting.

BPI is also the North American certifying body for all biodegradable/composting products. All of our HoldOn bags have been tested and certified by BPI under the ASTM D6400 standards to confirm that our bags are compostable in an industrial/commercial composting facility. Please be sure to check https://findacomposter.com/ for industrial/commercial composting facilities in your area that accept compostable bags and other compostable packaging as part of their collection program as some do not have this capability at this time.
